NEURAXIS Cancel U.S. Tour
July 11, 2006Montreal-based NEURAXIS have issued the following statement via their official MySpace profile:
"Attention to all the promoters, bands and fans: Earlier this year, NEURAXIS had agreed to take part in a U.S. tour alongside BENEATH THE MASSACRE and VICTIMAS which was to take place for late July/early August. In late June it was decided that we had to cancel our participation on this tour. We had advised the tour promoter of our decision. There was several reasons we could not do this tour:
"With a month to go before the tour was to start, we had only received half of the confirmed dates. We felt this was not enough time to properly promote and spread the word about this tour.
"NEURAXIS did not have work permits to enter the U.S. to tour. This would mean we would have to attempt to pass through with a false reason. NEURAXIS has done this before in the past and it is a very stressfull situation because the U.S. border is very strict and it's always a 50/50 chance we could be denied, add to that if we are caught lying we could be permanently banned from entering the U.S. (including our vehicle). At the same time, NEURAXIS was offered to do another tour in Canada at the same period of time. We felt this new offer was a lot safer and would be a better choice. More news on this coming soon. With all these reasons we decided we had to cancel.
"We want to thank Joe Hernandez (the tour promoter) for his work and time that he put into the tour.
"The reason for this announcement is because we have received some emails from promoters and fans that still think NEURAXIS is on this tour. Please be aware we are no longer playing. We plan on returning to the U.S. sometime this year/early next year."
